WhiteCap Lager is now available in a new bottle and redesigned logo
Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL) has announced that it has changed the design of the bottles for its premium beer brand, WhiteCap Lager. WhiteCap Lager is one of Kenya’s oldest beers, first being produced over 70 years ago.
The new WhiteCap Lager bottle features a redesigned logo adapted from its original. The new bottle is similar to the one used for the Hophouse and Tusker Premium Lager. The logo is also similar to the old one and it features a snow capped peak of Mount Kenya like the old one.
With the launch of a new bottle design, nothing has really changed. The beer is still the same and the beer will still be in a 500ml bottle and will also be available at a Recommended Retail Price (RRP) from Ksh. 170. Beer will also have no added sugar.
According to KBL, this repackaging will also serve as a welcome refreshment to generate excitement among longtime WhiteCap Lager consumers and provide a unique opportunity for a new generation of beer drinkers.
Commenting on the new bottle, Alice Owambo, Marketing Manager for Emerging Beers, said: “Design is absolutely an integral part of any brand and as a beer with 70 years of heritage, we don’t take redesigns lightly. We are incredibly proud of the new direction the brand’s aesthetic is taking, showcasing our Kenyan heritage but also modernizing WhiteCap to meet consumer expectations of a premium brand. We’re confident this refreshed design will stand out on the shelves and showcase the qualities of WhiteCap, which make us one of Kenya’s favorite alcohol brands.
Whitecap Lager is a brand of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL), a subsidiary of East African Breweries Limited (EABL). It takes its name from the magnificent snow-capped Mount Kenya. The brand’s vision is to position White Cap as a beer of distinction for discerning consumers.
