ABS and Rainmaking to Support Singapore’s Decarbonization Entrepreneurs
ABS and Rainmaking must collaborate to support entrepreneurs with maritime decarbonization technologies.
ABS’s vast experience in the marine and offshore industry, combined with the Rainmaking record of decarbonization-focused startups, will enable the rapid testing and development of transformative technologies with the potential to reduce CO2 emissions.
The program will identify tech startups and deliver pilot projects and scalable businesses during six-month sprints. ABS will act as a technical advisor to provide industry information and assess new technologies for their potential contribution to IMO decarbonization goals.
“ABS supports the development of the marine decarbonization technology ecosystem as part of our commitment to put the shipping industry on a sustainable footing. By collaborating with Rainmaking, we are ensuring that the transformative ideas our industry needs to achieve its decarbonization goals are identified and supported to quickly reach the scale required to make a meaningful contribution, ”said Georgios Plevrakis, Director of the ‘ABS, Global Sustainability Strategy.
“We need to be a lot more progressive about how technology can change this industry – we see a like-minded partner in ABS to make it happen,” said Michael Pomerleau, partner and investor at Rainmaking.
